Jean Nicolas Pierre Hachette

Jean Nicolas Pierre Hachette ( born May 6, 1769 in Mézières, † January 16, 1834 in Paris) was a French mathematician.

Hachette studied at Reims and worked from 1788 at the École Royale du genie de Mézières. He was a supporter of the revolution and became a member of the committee that prepared the 1794 opening of the École Centrale des Travaux Publics - the later École Polytechnique. In the same year he became assistant professor for descriptive geometry and in 1799 professor. In 1816 he was expelled from the faculty.

About 1832 he reported to the Academy of Sciences of the tests by Hippolyte Pixii.
