Jean-Pierre Augert

Jean -Pierre Augert ( born January 13, 1946 in Fontcouverte -la -Toussuire ) is a French former alpine skier who competed in all disciplines. He is the uncle of the skier Jean -Noël Augert, Jean -Pierre Vidal and Vanessa Vidal.

Biography

The first points in a World Cup race won Augert on 21 January 1968 as the seventh of the Hahnenkamm slalom in Kitzbuehel. At the Olympic Winter Games 1968, he drove in the slalom to 15th place, but was disqualified because of a Torfehlers. The first podium in the World Cup he scored on March 29, 1968, when second in the slalom in the Canadian Rossland.

Also in the 1968/69 season was one Augert a world leader. There were two more second places added, January 6, in the giant slalom in Adelboden and on 9 February in the downhill in Cortina d' Ampezzo. Three more times he went into the top ten. In the season 1969/70 was a sixth place his only result in the points. Augert could not qualify for the World Cup 1970 and retired from professional sports.
