Jean-Pierre Nicolas

Jean -Pierre Nicolas ( born January 22, 1945 in Marseille ) is a French former rally driver and team boss of the Peugeot rally team.

Jean -Pierre Nicolas was in the 1970s, works driver at Alpine and Peugeot in the World Rally Championship. The Frenchman won five World Cup races. In 1973, he won on an Alpine A110, the Tour de Corse and three years later the Morocco Rally in a Peugeot 504 His greatest successes were the victories at the Monte Carlo Rally in 1978 and the East African Safari Rally in the same year. In addition, he still won in his successful career year in the Rallye Côte d'Ivoire. In 1974, he won together with Gérard Larrousse the overall standings of the Tour de France for automobiles.

After the end of his active career was Nicolas team boss at Peugeot 's factory team. He led Marcus Grönholm in 2000 and 2002 to two world titles.

Today Nicolas is manager at the Intercontinental Rally Challenge.
