Jean Poiret
Jean Poiret ( born August 17, 1926 in Paris, † March 14, 1992 ) was a French actor, director and author.
Life and career
The previous stage actor Poiret started his film career with his friend Michel Serrault. Both were preferred performer of director Jean -Pierre Mocky. As a film actor Poiret appeared in almost 70 film and television productions; to his outstanding film roles include appearances include François Truffaut's The Last Metro in as well as Inspector Lavardin in several films by Claude Chabrol (including chicken in vinegar).
Poiret made himself a name as a playwright and director: La Cage Aux Folles, 1973 ( La cage aux folles ) ran under his direction more than 900 times in the Paris Theatre Palais Royal, and was later in the eponymous film by Edouard Molinaro a worldwide success. As a film director staged Poiret et al comedy The zebra with his wife Caroline Cellier in the lead role.
