Jean Van Leeuwen

Jean Van Leeuwen ( born December 26, 1937) is an American children's book author.

Life

Jean Van Leeuwen grew up in Rutherford, New Jersey. She studied at Syracuse University in the U.S. state of New York journalism. Later she moved to New York City where she worked in the children's book department of a publishing house. In 1967 they released their first own publication, Timothy 's Flower.

From Jean Van Leeuwen has written over fifty books for children, including the stories of Oliver grunts from which - inspired by her two (then) small children - under the title Oliver and Amanda ... developed a series of books for beginning readers. Became known, the author especially for their series ( The Great ... ) with stories of a mouse trio and their adventures in Manhattan, one of which with the great cheese conspiracy, Who gemaust Santa Claus? and the major rescue effort also three titles are published in German.

Jean Van Leeuwen lives in Chappaqua, New York.
