Jean-Yves Jason

Muscadin Jean -Yves Jason is a Haitian politician and since 2007 the mayor of the capital, Port -au -Prince.

Jason studied at the State University of Haiti ( Université d'Etat d' Haïti). He was elected mayor of Port -au -Prince in 2007. During his tenure as mayor on 12 January 2010, the worst earthquake in the region occurred for more than 200 years. Since the epicenter was only about 25 km west- southwest of Port -au -Prince, the city was particularly affected.

Jason is married and has two children.
