Jeannette Walls

Jeannette Walls ( born 1960 in Phoenix, Arizona) is an American journalist and writer.

Life and work

Walls studied at Barnard College and worked for 20 years as a journalist in New York City and Long Iceland. She wrote society columnist for E! Channel and the New York Magazine Intelligencer and moderated three times a week a live broadcast in the morning on MSNBC television. Since 2007, she works full-time as an author.

Jeannette Walls published about her extraordinary childhood 2006 autobiography The Glass Castle, which helped her to gain international fame. The title has been translated into 23 languages. In Germany alone lock sold from glass over 500,000 times, 26 weeks was the book on the Spiegel bestseller list. The 2009 novel published biography of her grandmother, An Unfinished Life, took a total of 115 weeks long even a place on the Spiegel bestseller list.

Jeannette Walls lives with her husband in Virginia.
