Jeff Hamilton (ice hockey)

Jeffrey Hamilton ( born September 4, 1977 in Englewood, Ohio ) is an American professional ice hockey player who played for HIFK Helsinki of the SM - liiga in.

Career

Jeff Hamilton began his career as a hockey player in the team of Yale University, where he was active from 1996 to 2001. He then moved on for one season on Kärpät Oulu from the Finnish SM- liiga. In August 2002, Hamilton returned to North America where he signed as a free agent contract with the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League. After two years in which the attacker only played once for New York in the NHL and almost exclusively for their farm team in the American Hockey League, which was Bridgeport Sound Tigers on the ice, he moved before the season 2004/ 05 to AHL Club Hartford Wolf Pack.

In the season 2005/ 06 Hamilton played for the second time in his career in Europe, where he ran aground for Ak Bars Kazan of the Russian Super League, before he at his former club, the New York Islanders, finished the season. From 2006 to 2008, Hamilton played each for one season with the Chicago Blackhawks and Carolina Hurricanes, before he went to the Chicago Wolves of the AHL before the 2008/ 09 season. On 5 March 2009 the player from the franchise of the Toronto Maple Leafs from his contract in Chicago was bought out. As of August 5, 2009 he was in the National League A in Lugano for the 2009/10 season under contract. In summer 2010, he completed a training camp at Atlant Mytischtschi, but did not get a contract in the KHL. In October 2010, he was obliged by HIFK Helsinki.

Internationally

For the U.S., Hamilton took part in the 2004 World Series, where he won the bronze medal with the team.
