Jeff Miller (Florida politician)

Jefferson B. " Jeff" Miller (born 27 June 1959, Saint Petersburg, Florida) is an American real estate agent and politician of the Republican Party. Since 2001 he is a member of the U.S. House of Representatives for Florida.

Biography

Jeff Miller was born in Saint Petersburg. After graduating from high school in 1984, he received his Bachelor of Arts in journalism from the University of Florida. Before he entered politics, he worked as a real estate broker and deputy sheriff. From 1998 to 2001 he was a deputy in the House of Representatives from Florida.

In a special election, he was elected in 2001 as the successor to Joe Scarborough in the House of Representatives of the United States. He sat down with 66 % of the vote against the Democrats by Steve Briese. In the following elections, he could always defend with at least 69 % of the vote his seat, he was confirmed in the 2010 elections with 81 % of votes in office. He represents the first Congressional District of Florida.

Miller is married and has two children and two grandchildren. He lives near Pensacola and is Methodist.
