Jeff Saibene

Jeff Saibene (born 13 September 1968, Luxembourg ) is a Luxembourgian football manager and former football player.

Playing career

Clubs

After the first stations in Luxembourg at FC throats and at Union Luxembourg played Jeff Saibene 1986-89 three years at the Belgian first division club Standard Liege, but only got a total of seven times in the first team to use before he moved to the first Swiss league for FC Aarau in 1989 He played twice for the club three years (1989-93 and 1995-98 ) and was doing 1993 champion with the club. In between he played for BSC Old Boys Basel, after that in 1998/99 for a few months at FC Locarno, before he trailed off his career at Luxembourg Swift Hesperange to 2002.

National

Saibene played 1986-2001 a total of 64 times for the Luxembourg national football team, only six other players ran to date frequently for his home.

Coaching career

Since 2001 active in the coaching staff of the Luxembourg team, he became in 2006 assistant coach at FC Thun, which he took over at the end of the season 2006/ 07 for a few weeks as interim coach, and saved from relegation. Saibene trained first as an assistant coach since the beginning of the 2008/2009 season as coach of the Swiss first division football club FC Aarau. Because of the miserable startes in the 2009/2010 season Saibene was released on October 12, 2009. Later, he was coach of the U21 national team of Luxembourg. On 8 March 2011 Saibene was to bottom club FC St. Gallen to stop him to save the club from relegation, which he was not able. In the following season Saibene succeeded with FC St. Gallen of direct promotion back to the highest Swiss league. Here, the club from the second match was on the leader position, which he did not relinquish it the whole season. His current contract with FC St. Gallen runs until summer 2014.
