Jeff Woywitka

Jeffrey Woywitka ( born September 1, 1983 in Vermilion, Alberta ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who plays for Augsburger Panther in the DEL since November 2013.

Career

Jeff Woywitka started his career as a hockey player with the Red Deer Rebels, for he held until 2003 in the Canadian junior Western Hockey League was active from 1999 to 2001, initially Ed Chynoweth Cup won as the WHL champions. Then the finals won the championship of the Canadian Hockey League, the Memorial Cup. During this period, the defender in the NHL Entry Draft in 2001 was selected in the first round than a total of 27 players from the Philadelphia Flyers, which, however, do not put it in the National Hockey League. After the 2003/04 season with their farm team in the American Hockey League, the Philadelphia Phantoms began, he was on 16 December 2003 along with a first-round vote in 2004 and third-round option for 2005 in exchange for Mike Comrie to the issued Edmonton Oilers. August 2, 2005 Woywitka was transferred along with Eric Brewer and Doug Lynch in exchange for Chris Pronger to the St. Louis Blues. For St. Louis, the Canadian was in the 2005/06 season his debut in the National Hockey League. In his rookie year he gave two assists in 26 games. In the following three seasons he ran regularly for St. Louis in the NHL, where he parallel respectively in the American Hockey League for their farm team, the Peoria Rivermen played. On 7 July 2009, the former youth international signed as a free agent a two- year contract with the Dallas Stars. After the end of the contract he moved to the Montreal Canadiens. In 2011 he went to the New York Rangers and then played for Peoria Rivermen. In November 2013 he was engaged by the Augsburg Panthers.

Internationally

For Canada Woywitka took part in the U20 World Youth Championship 2003, where he took second place with his team.
