Jefferson County (Pennsylvania)
Jefferson County is a county located in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania in the United States. In the 2000 census, the county had 45 932 inhabitants and a population density of 27 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Brookville.
History
Jefferson County was formed on March 26, 1804 Lycoming County and named after U.S. President Thomas Jefferson.
Geography
The county has an area of 1,701 square kilometers, of which 4 square kilometers of water surface.
