Jefferson Township is one of 16 townships of Brown County in the U.S. state of Ohio. According to the census in 2000 1355 inhabitants were registered here.

Geography

Jefferson Township is located in the central south-east of Brown County in southwest Ohio, is in the southwest about 10 km from the Ohio River, which forms the natural border with Kentucky, bordered clockwise to the townships: Jackson Township, Byrd Township, Union Township, Pleasant Township and Franklin Township.

Management

The township is administered by a Board of Trustees consisting of three elected members. Two persons are elected in the year after the presidential election and one each in the previous year. The term of office lasts four years, beginning on 1 January. There is also a Township Clerk (Secretary), who is also elected in the year before the presidential election to a four -year term. Whose term of office begins on April 1.
