Jeffrey Van Hooydonk

Jeffrey Van Hooydonk ( born October 1, 1977 in Antwerp) is a Belgian racing driver.

Career

Van Hooydonk began in 1990 with the motor sport as a kart driver. In 1995, Van Hooydonk into formula racing in the German Formula Renault in 1700 and competed in the German Formula Renault 2000 a year later. Both years he won the vice-championship. Then he won the 1997 championship of the Formula Renault 2.0 Euro Cup. A year later, Van Hooydonk moved to the German Formula 3 Championship, where he finished in sixth place overall.

He was bound by Witmeur KTR for Formula 3000 in 1999. He scored once in fourth points, finishing in 17th place overall. 2000 Van Hooydonk remained at Witmeur KTR and took his second Formula 3000 season in attack. The Beligier was once again finished fourth and this time the 19th place in the championship standings. In addition, he took part in a race in the American Le Mans Series.

2001 Van Hooydonk left Formula 3000 in the direction of Belgian Procar series, in which he won the runner-up title. After the Beligier again in 2002 moved to the German Formula 3 Championship and fifth had become, he returned in 2003 in the Formula 3000 back. For the Belgian Team Astro Mega he started in six of ten races, finishing in 13th place overall. He also drove a race in the FIA GT Championship. 2004 Van Hooydonk began his fourth Formula 3000 season at Coloni Motorsport. After four races in which he scored points three times, he exchanged with Patrick Friesacher the cockpit and denied the rest of the season for Super Nova Racing. In the overall classification, he finished eleventh overall.

After Van Hooydonk 2005 had no cockpit found in the GP2 Series, the successor series Formula 3000, he went to the start in the Eurocup Mégane Trophy and finished fourth in the overall standings. After two years break Van Hooydonk came back in 2008 in the Belgian GT Championship, finishing in eighth place in the overall standings. 2009 Van Hooydonk started at the 24 - hour race at Spa -Francorchamps and Zolder.

In addition, Van Hooydonk collected in 2005 experience in a Formula 1 car when he graduated test drives for MF1 Racing.
