Jehle

Jehle was an automobile manufacturer from Schaan in Liechtenstein. Founder of the company was Xaver Jehle. The focus of the company's activities was the manufacture of truck bodies; Jehle also developed special tanks and airstrips - guiding light systems. Since the 1970s, Jehle maintained an exclusive representative for De Tomaso sports cars in the Middle East. For this business, another line of business, which dealt with the body and engine tuning of De Tomaso models emerged a little later. Finally put up Jehle in the 1990s, in small number of its own sports car manufactures.

Jehle sapphire

The sapphire was developed by Jehle even sports car with an extremely wedge-shaped body. A special feature of the design was the absence of conventional doors. The sapphire was designed for different engines. In the basic version, it was powered by a four-cylinder engine from the Volkswagen Golf. In model year 1984, this engine developed 75 hp, top speed was specified at 170 km / h and the selling price was 16,300 Swiss francs. From the following year, a turbocharged engine of 2000 cc capacity was listed at 150 hp, which should allow 230 km / h top speed. The prices were 1985 34.500 1986 36.500 CHF and CHF. In 1988 a V8 engine with 5600 cc capacity was available at extra cost. In 1990, for the eight- cylinder engine has a power output of 350 hp and for the vehicle a top speed of 320 km / h indicated. Tuning

Another mainstay was the tuning of De Tomaso sports car. Jehle was principally concerned with improving the performance of De Tomaso Pantera, which took place primarily through the installation of one or optionally two turbochargers; to have been made ​​according to factory specifications this power of over 1000 hp. Upon customer request, larger engines were installed as an alternative with 6.6 liters or 7.5 liters of displacement, which were provided with cylinder heads made ​​of light metal and up to six valves per cylinder.
