Jehue Gordon

Jehue Gordon (born 15 December 1991 in Port of Spain ) is a track and field athlete from Trinidad and Tobago who specializes in the 400 - meter hurdles.

Career

Gordon surprised the professional world when he was in Berlin took fourth place finish in the 400 - meter hurdles race at the IAAF World Championships in 2009 and is the national record of Trinidad and Tobago improved to 48.26 seconds. The then 17 -year-old, who retired in the previous year in the semifinals of the World Junior Championships in Moncton, had improved his personal best within 14 months by over three seconds.

At the Track Junior World Championships 2010 in Moncton Gordon was his new role as favorite and secured the title in 49.30 seconds. The following year he suffered a setback when he missed the finals by one hundredth of a second at the IAAF World Championships in Daegu.

In the semifinals of the 2012 Olympics in London Gordon undercutting for the first time the 48 -second mark and improved his national record of 47.96 seconds. In the final, he finished sixth in 49.08 seconds.

His biggest success so far Gordon at the World Athletics Championships 2013 in Moscow. In the final, he improved his best performance to 47.69 seconds, thus securing the gold medal ahead of the Olympic Second Michael Tinsley from the United States and the Serbian European Vice Champion Emir Bekrić.

Jehue Gordon lives in Maraval, a suburb of Port of Spain, and is trained by Ian Hypolite and Edwin Skinner.
