Jejomar Binay

Jejomar Binay Cabauatan ( born November 11, 1942 in Paco, Manila ) is a Filipino politician of the Partido Lakas ng Bayan - Demokratiko Pilipino, longtime mayor of Makati City, and since 2010 Vice- President of the Philippines.

Biography

Studies and professional activities

After attending the Preparatory High School, University of the Philippines, he studied political science and law at the University of the Philippines ( UP) and where she earned a Bachelor of Arts (AB Political Science ) and a Bachelor of Laws ( LL.B. ). Then he first completed a postgraduate degree in Public Administration with a focus on local government at the UP and graduated with a Master of Arts (MA Public Administration ( Local Government Management). A further post-graduate studies in law at the University of Santo Tomas, he finished with a master of Laws ( LL.M.). According to a study in National Security administration at the National Defense College of the Philippines, he earned an MA National Security Administration with distinction. Finally, he also studied management at the Philippine Christian University and graduated again with the academic degree an MA from management.

After qualifying as a lawyer, he worked as a lawyer. In addition, he was also for some time as a lecturer and professor of law at the Philippine College of Commerce, at the Philippine Women 's University, worked at the St. Scholastica's College London and National Defense College.

Mayor of Makati

After the fall of President Ferdinand Marcos in February 1986, he began to get involved in politics and was first elected to represent the LABAN mayor of Makati City. This office he held until November 1987. Election as Vice President in 2010

In the elections of 10 May 2010, he was a competitor of the former president and presidential candidate of the Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino Joseph Estrada for the office of Vice-President and as a candidate of the Partido Lakas ng Bayan Demokratiko Pilipino - whose running mate. He won against the candidate of the Liberal Party and vice presidential candidate Benigno Aquino III. , Senator Mar Roxas.
