Jem Finer

Jem Finer ( born July 20, 1955 in Stoke-on-Trent/England ) is an English musician, actor and songwriter. He is a founding member of the Irish- English folk - punk band The Pogues.

Life and career

Finer was born in Stoke -on-Trent, England, and studied IT and sociology at Keele University. After his studies, he traveled through Europe and worked briefly on a barge in France. Finer was finally settled in London. He lived in a house in the 32Burton Street, which he occasionally shared with Shane MacGowan and Spider Stacy, and finally founded the Pogues with them.

Mainly on banjo, Finer plays among other things, mandolin, saxophone and guitar.
