Jem Ward

Jem Ward ( December 26, 1800 *, † April 3, 1884 in Liverpool ) was a British boxer of the bare- knuckle era.

It was in 1815 at the age of 15 years professional and remained undefeated seven years. In 1822, he was blocked by the supervisory authority Pugilistic Society because of a shifted struggle as the first boxer in history, after he had gone against Bill Abbott KO. However, in 1823 pardoned him again. In 1825, he won the title against Tom Cannon with ease and was from 1825 to 1831 with a brief interruption in 1827 English champion. 1827 defeated him Peter Crawley, but resigned immediately. Ward won the vacant crown and then held it up to his career end 1831st

In 1995, Ward induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.
