Jenni Hiirikoski

Jenni Hiirikoski ( born March 30, 1987 in Lempäälä ) is a Finnish ice hockey player who plays for the Jyväskylä Hockey Cats in the Naisten SM- sarja since 2012.

Career

Jenni Hiirikoski started with the sport of ice hockey in their hometown at Lempäälän Kisa ( LeKi ).

In 2006 she won her first Finnish championship with Ilves Tampere. She then moved for a season to the Espoo Blues, with which they again reached the championship title in 2007. At the end of the 2007/ 08 Hiirikoski was awarded as the best defender of the SM- sarja. In addition, she won the vice-championship with Ilves. After this success, she left her home country when she was hired by the Russian champions SKIF Nizhny Novgorod in the summer of 2008. With SKIF she won the 2009 European Women Champions Cup and reached the Russian vice-championship. Then they returned again to Ilves Tampere in 2010 and won another league title with the club. She was also honored as player of the year.

In summer 2010 Hiirikoski Tampere left and moved to Jyväskylä, where she founded a painting and wallpapering company. In addition, she was awarded a contract with the Jyväskylä Hockey Cats for which it has since, with the exception of an interruption in the season 2011 /12 - when she was active for SKIF Nizhny Novgorod again - plays.
