Jenni Vartiainen

Jenni Mari Vartiainen ( born March 20, 1983 in Kuopio ) is a Finnish pop singer.

It reached first notoriety in 2002 by the TV talent show Popstars, where she managed over 450 participants in the Girl Group Gimmel. The band released two successful studio albums and 5 singles and Emma received awards in three categories. The band broke up in 2004.

Jenni, however, decided to continue to make music and took in the years 2005 to 2007 her first solo album called Ihmisten edessä ( " in front of people " ), which came on 12 September 2007 on the market. From this, they brought four singles on the market: Tunnoton ( " Stunned " ), Ihmisten edessä, Toinen ( " Someone else " ) & Mustaa kahvia ( " Black Coffee "). As of 2008, it sold over 39,000 copies of the album and received a gold and a platinum record.

Jenni Vartiainen describes her songs as melodramatic pop songs. The style of the songs of her debut album varies from song to song; from the quiet electro, via dynamic rock to the well-established only with acoustic guitar and banjo Tunnoton.

In April 2010, followed Jenni Vartiainens second album " Själö ". The album reached double platinum with 45,000 copies sold in the first week.
