Jennifer Chandler

Jennifer Kay Chandler Bellamy ( born June 13, 1959 in Langdale, Chambers County, Alabama) is a former American Water Diving. At the Olympic Games, in 1976 won the springboard diving.

Chandler won during the 1975 AAU indoor championship by one-meter board. At the Pan American Games in 1975 in Mexico City she won ahead of Canada's Elizabeth Carruthers and her fellow Cynthia McIngvale. In Montreal at the Olympic Games in 1976 no Canadian reached the final, three U.S. women were compared with three jumpers from the GDR and two jumpers from the USSR. Jennifer Chandler was already with the first jump lead and had at the end of the competition 36 points ahead of Christa Koehler, Cynthia McIngvale received bronze. Two years later, Jennifer Chandler could again win bronze behind Irina Kalinina from the USSR and her fellow Cynthia Potter at the World Swimming Championships in Berlin in 1978.

At 21, Chandler ended after numerous violations of their sporting careers. In addition to her studies at the University of Alabama, she worked occasionally as Fernsehkommentatorin at jump competitions. In 1985, she was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame, where she is also professionally active today.
