Jennifer Miller

Jennifer Miller ( born 1961 ) is an American circus entertainer, writer, she taught at the University of California, Los Angeles Department of World Arts and Cultures. She is a Bart woman, juggler, fire eater and. Miller lives in New York City.

Miller is the youngest daughter of Jewish converted Quakers and grew up in Connecticut and California. Miller began her involvement in the performing arts and theater during high school time, since the early 80s she was part of the dance scene in downtown New York. In her career as a performing artist, which extends over 20 years, she has performed with numerous choreographers and dancers, various circuses and in the Coney Iceland Sideshow on.

In 1989 she founded the acclaimed political troupe Circus Amok in New York actor who manages them ever since. At the center of it was also in the documentary Juggling Gender by Tami Gold, about the Circus Amok numerous other documentaries were filmed. Miller undergoes extensive recognition for her work, she is the recipient of various awards, including the Obie, Bessie, BAX 10 and most recently the Ethyl Eichelberger Award. She currently teaches in New York at the Pratt Institute, she has also taught at other universities, such as UCLA, Cal Arts, Scripps College, and at New York University.
