Jenny Hval

Jenny Hval, also known under the stage name Rockettothesky, ( born July 11, 1980 in Oslo, Kingdom of Norway ) is a Norwegian singer, composer, songwriter and author.

Life

Hval studied at the University of Melbourne in Australia, the subjects Creative Writing and Performance. During her studies she performed in Australia from 2003 to Australian groups iPanic and Folding for Air as a singer on. After returning to Norway in 2006 came out their first LP Cigars, which was nominated for the Best Newcomer division of the Norwegian Spellemannprisen. Here she was already using the stage name Rockettothesky. In the same year the CD To Sing You Apple Trees and 2008 Medea followed.

Since 2011 Hval uses her maiden name and published in 2011 the CD Viscera and 2013, the CD Innocence Is Kinky. In collaboration with Håvard Volden appeared in 2012, the CD titled her chosen Nude on sand.

Hval published for livelihood articles in magazines and anthologies and is a freelance writer and columnist. Have been published in Norway two of her books.
