Jens Filbrich

Jens Filbrich ( born March 13, 1979 in Suhl ) is a former German cross-country skiers.

Jens Filbrich from SV Eintracht Frankenhain comes from a sports-loving family. His father Wolfgang is a qualified PE teacher, former cross-country and biathlon coach; his mother Sigrun is a former cross-country skier, won the bronze at the Olympics. His brother Raik was active as a sports soldier in the Nordic combined. Filbrich is married to the former biathlete Janet Klein, with whom he has a son.

Jens Filbrich won at the 2001 World Championships in Lahti and at the 2002 Winter Olympics each bronze, at the 2003 World Championships in Val di Fiemme, the World Championships 2005 in Oberstdorf, at the 2009 World Championships in Liberec and at the Olympic Winter Games 2006, respectively silver team. In Oberstdorf, he also won the 2005 silver in the team sprint together with Axel Teichmann. At the World Cup in Sapporo 2007 he won the bronze medal over 50 km Classic.

On February 20, 2010 Filbrich reached at the Olympic Games in Vancouver, the 6th place in the double prosecution, after Tobias Angerer helps to win the silver medal.

After the 50 - km race on March 8, 2014 in Oslo, Jens Filbrich ended his active career. Previously, he had taken part in the Olympic Games in Sochi for the fourth time, where he took the classic 14th Place over 15 km.
