Jens Hegeler ( born January 22, 1988 in Cologne ) is a German footballer who is 04 Leverkusen has been under contract since the 2008/09 season at the Bundesliga Bayer.

Career

Clubs

The defense and midfield played at the beginning of his career in the youth teams of the SV Westhoven, SpVgg Porz, the youth division of the 1st FC Cologne, the youth teams of PSI Yurdumspor Cologne and VfL Leverkusen, before he in 2006 Bayer 04 Leverkusen joined. There he played since his debut on the final day of the season 2006/ 07 mainly for the Regional team of the club. Under coach Michael Skibbe he came on 10 May 2008 ( 33rd Round ), 2-1 win in the away game against Hansa Rostock to his Bundesliga debut when he came on for the injured Luke Sinkiewicz in 50 minutes. However, his debut lasted just 33 minutes before he was expelled shortly before the game ends with a second yellow card of the field.

In the second half of the season 2008/ 09 Hegeler was to play matches, awarded for one and a half years in the second division side FC Augsburg. On 2 May of 2010 ( 33 Matchday) he scored his first goal for FC Augsburg not only for the 1-0 win in the home match against TSV 1860 Munich, but secured his team the relegation place for promotion to the Bundesliga.

At the end of the loan period Hegeler returned briefly returned to Leverkusen, before he became FC Nuremberg on loan for two years from league rivals 1 on 13 July 2010. Right on the first match day, 21 August 2010, he scored in a 1-1 away draw against Borussia Mönchengladbach his first goal for the club and was all over the 2010/11 season to the most reliable players of the team. He was one of three players that have been used this season in all 34 league and cup games to four. For the 2012/13 season he returned to Leverkusen.

His debut in the Champions League Hegeler crowned on October 2, 2013 2nd group match against Real Sociedad with 2-1 victory in a free kick in the 90th minute - five minutes after coming off the bench for Sidney Sam.

National

On 11 August 2009 he made his debut for the U-21 national team in the 1-3 defeat against the selection of Turkey - within the Tournament at the Lobanovskiy Cup in Ukraine - with Substitutes for Nils Petersen in the 59th minute.

With the Bundeswehr team, he participated in the discharged from 14 to 21 October 2007 Hyderabad ( India) 4th CISM Military World Games. The football tournament was already finished for him and his team after the 1-1 draw against Cameroon and the 1-3 defeat against North Korea after the preliminary round.
