Jens Josef

Jens Josef (* August 5, 1967 in Solingen -Ohligs ) is a German composer, flutist and high school teachers.

Life

Jens Josef received his first flute lessons with Rita Eggenweiler and Klaus Grünow, the solo flutist of the Staatstheater Kassel, and took lessons in composition with Jörn Tegtmeyer, KMD in Hann. Munden. From 1989 to 1997 Joseph studied at the Musikhochschule Frankfurt, flute with Peter Brock and Paul Dahme, composition with Gerhard Müller- Hornbach. He received the 1995 exam, 1997, the concert exam. He studied flute with Andras Adorjan and also composition with Rainer Kunad.

He was the 1992/93 Member of the Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock, 1994/95 flutist in the salon orchestra Saitensprünge. Since then he works as a freelance flautist, composer, teacher and conductor. In 1997 he founded the group contrasts with Christian Ridil. In 1998 he was principal flutist of the New Philharmonic Hessen-Thüringen. He worked with the Mutare Ensemble in Frankfurt. Joseph taught from 2000 to 2006 at the Academy of Music in Darmstadt, Germany, from 2003 to 2006 at the Musikhochschule Frankfurt. Since 2006 he teaches at the Music Academy of Kassel.

His oratorio long time ago. Stations of a city, for narrator, two sopranos, baritone and ensemble, was founded in 2000 in the church of St. Blaise, Hann. Munden, premiered. On behalf of the ensemble La Picassola 2001 he composed music for flute (s ), viola and double bass in the image of Pablo Picasso "Portrait of his little daughter " in four sets. The ensemble gave the first performance in the foyer of the State Theatre in Wiesbaden. Also in 2001, arranged Josef Schubert 's Winterreise for tenor and string quartet. It was recorded with Christian Elsner and the Henschel Quartet in 2002, and performed in 2004 by Peter Schreier and the Dresden String Quartet.

It was 2009, the flutist in a trio concert at Gasteig, with Rudi Spring (piano) and Graham Waterhouse ( cello). They played Martinů Trio, the first performance of the flute version of Gestural Variations of Waterhouse and a Christmas carol processing of all three composers. Josef sat Sweeter the bells never sound.

Chamber Music of Joseph has appeared on a portrait CD of chamber music, Five Chansons on texts by François Villon ( for soprano, flute, clarinet and percussion ), 06/26/1626 (Concert Scene # 2 for baritone, flute, violin, bassoon and piano), eccentricities ( three songs and two interludes for soprano, alto flute and guitar), and the music for flute (s ), viola and double bass, played by La Picassola.
