Jens Koeppen

Jens Koeppen ( born September 27, 1962 in Zeitz ) is a German politician ( CDU). Since 2005 he is a Member of the German Bundestag since 2014 and Chairman of the 18th legislature of the German Bundestag newly constituted committee Digital Agenda.

Life and career

After attending the Polytechnic High School (POS ) in Schwedt / Oder Koeppen graduated from 1979 to 1981 an apprenticeship as an electrical engineer in the Petrochemical Combine Schwedt and laid in 1986 from the master's examination in the Department of Industrial Electrical Engineering. In 1987, Koeppen training as an antenna engineer with the special subject area large community antenna systems. After the turn Koeppen founded his own company for antennas and electrical engineering in Schwedt, he converted in 1992 into the ANTEL Elektro GmbH and runs until early 2006 as a managing partner. In 1991, he has also completed the training as a technician in the electrician trade.

Jens Koeppen is Protestant, married and has one daughter.

Koeppen joined in 1989 the New Forum and was a member of the speakers' council.

He joined the CDU in 1997 and belongs since 1999 to the board of the CDU district association Uckermark; He was elected district CDU chairman in 2001. Since 2002 he is also a member of the Land executive of the CDU Brandenburg since 2004 and chairman of the National Committee of Experts Economics and Labour.

Member of Parliament

1989 Koeppen joined as a co-opted member to the city council of Schwedt and took over the chairmanship of the Committee for the investigation of abuse of office and corruption.

He is a member since 2003, the county council of the county Uckermark and from 2003 to 2008 Member of the Gemeindevertreteung Berkholz- Meyenburg. The district council was Koeppen 2003-2005 Chairman of the CDU.

In the state elections in Brandenburg in 2004 Koeppen joined in the constituency Uckermark II as a direct candidate, but missed a place in the state parliament.

Since the 2005 federal election, he is a member of the German Bundestag. Koeppen is a full member of the committee Digital Agenda, which he chaired. He is also a regular member of the Committee on Economic, energy and Elders and substitute member of the Committee on Transport and digital infrastructure.

Jens Koeppen has moved over the national list Brandenburg in the Federal Parliament in 2005 and 2009. In the general election in 2013 he won 57 the direct mandate in the constituency
