Jens Riewa

Jens Riewa ( born July 2, 1963 in Lübbenau, Brandenburg ) is a German host and newscaster at the ARD news.


Jens Riewa grew up in Lubben, where he completed his secondary education in 1982. He then undertook for three years at the National People's Army. After Riewa had aborted his studies "Technology of construction " at the traffic school in Dresden, he trained as an air traffic controller. There followed a two-year intensive speech training, and facilitation training at the Berlin Radio. In 1988, he was an aptitude test as newscaster for television of the GDR. He then worked at the Youth Radio DT64. For the evening news, the moderator came by speaker activities for radio plays, features, documentaries and advertising in 1991 - first as a voice over that in 1994 as an on- speaker.

In 1994 he was engaged by Dieter Thomas Heck Moderator for the German hit parade after Birgit Schrowange gave the moderation of this show after one year. In 1996 and 1997 he presented the German preliminary rounds for Euro Vision Song Contest. In January 2013 he hosted alongside Werner arrow and Rolf Gerrards the awarding of the Order for Combating Deadly Seriousness of the Aachen carnival association.

Private life

2002, Jens Riewa a brief relationship with the pop singer Michelle. For open statements about his relationship with the press, he had to apologize to his superiors.
