The Jeonju World Cup Stadium is a football stadium in Jeonju, Jeollabuk -do, South Korea.

History

The sports complex was built between February 1999 and October 2001 for the Football World Cup 2002. The inauguration was followed by Dae -jung on 8 November 2001 by the South Korean President Kim. During the World Cup tournament, it was the venue for three games.

Today, the stadium is used as the home ground of the Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, a franchise of the K League Classic, the top league in the country.

The stadium is held inside and outside in the colors blue, red and yellow. Here, blue represents Jeonju living environment, red for the passion of the inhabitants of the province of Jeollabuk -do, and yellow for the desire of the people for peace and prosperity.
