Jeremiah M. Wilson

Jeremiah Morrow Wilson (* November 25, 1828 in Lebanon, Ohio, † September 24, 1901 in Washington DC ) was an American politician. Between 1871 and 1875 he represented the State of Indiana in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Jeremiah Wilson attended the schools of his home. After a subsequent study of law and qualifying as a lawyer, he began to work in this profession. Later he transferred his residence and his law firm to Connersville in Indiana. Between 1860 and 1870 he worked at various courts his new home as a judge. Politically, Wilson joined the Republican Party.

In the congressional elections of 1870, he was elected in the fourth electoral district of Indiana in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, where he became the successor of George Washington Julian on March 4, 1871. After a re-election he was able to complete in Congress until March 3, 1875 two legislative sessions. In 1874, Wilson opted not to run again. He remained in the federal capital, Washington, where he practiced law. There he is on 24 September in 1901 died.
