Jerko Leko ( born April 9, 1980 in Zagreb, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Croatian football player.

Career

Association

Leko's career began with his hometown club Dinamo Zagreb. From his youth, he moved in 2001 to professional department of Dinamo. There he was a regular and foreign clubs were aware of him. So Dynamo Kiev paid 2004 five and a half million euro transfer fee to get him into its ranks. Thus, he is one of the most expensive sales from the Croatian league in the recent past. Until 2006, he played in Kiev, where he has also been used in European competitions. For the season 2006/ 07 he moved free transfer to AS Monaco in the first French league, where he also scored his first goal. This change he hoped for more attention from the coach. In summer 2010, Leko signed with the Turkish first division club Bucaspor. In 2011 he joined the Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb.

For the second half of the season 2012/13 he moved to the Turkish TFF 1 Lig to his old club Bucaspor. This change came later but not reached, so Leko stayed at Dinamo Zagreb.

National

In the national team, the midfielder 's return since his debut on 8 May 2002 against Hungary so far 59 bets. Leko was also at the 2006 World Cup for the national team of Croatia.
