Jermaine Paul

Jermaine Paul ( born July 26, 1978 in New York) is an American R & B musician. He was known in 2012 as the winner of the second season of the talent show The Voice.

Biography

Jermaine grew up as the son of a church preacher - up to two years in Alabama - in New York and began with the music in the church. He sang in various choirs, including the classical school choir in high school and in a choir with members from across the state of New York. He also learned to play guitar and later play the piano. At 15, he founded with a brother and his friend, the band 1Accord who also got a record deal, but broke up after a film song.

After that, he was a long time background and studio singer for Alicia Keys and had a time in their own performances opening act. In 2006 he was even nominated B performance for participation in their song If This World Were Mine for a Grammy Award for Best R & common. Nevertheless, he separated after eight years of Keys, because he wanted to have an independent career. With brothers and friends he formed a band that established itself in New York.

In 2002, when American Idol was launched, Jermaine Paul competed for the first time for a talent show, but was not taken as a candidate. A second attempt he undertook in 2012 when competition format The Voice. Although only two coaches had trusted him at the blind auditions, he came to the finals and sat there through against the remaining three competitors. With his final contribution I Believe I Can Fly, originally by R. Kelly, he made it then also in the U.S. singles charts. Although he also won a recording contract in addition to the prize money, he published no later own album after his first single I Believe in This Life was flopped despite promotion by an appearance in the upcoming The Voice Season.
