Jermaine Stewart

Jermaine Stewart ( born September 7, 1957 in Columbus, Ohio, † March 17, 1997 Chicago, Illinois) was an American pop singer. His most famous song was We Do not Have to Take Our Clothes Off from the year 1986.

Career

Stewart fell for the first time in the 1970s as a dancer from Soul Train. Later he became a replacement singer and dancer for various artists such as The Chi- Lites, The Staple Singers, Shalamar and Culture Club. In 1988 he had with Get Lucky and Do not Talk Dirty to Me two top ten hits in Germany. 2003, the song We Do not Have to Take Our Clothes Off was taken from the American transmitter VH1 in the list of the 100 Greatest One-Hit -Wonder.

Jermaine Stewart died in 1997 of liver cancer, as a result of immune deficiency disease AIDS.
