Jérôme Deschamps

Jérôme Deschamps ( b. 1947 in Neuilly -sur -Seine ) is a French actor, director and playwright.

The nephew of Hubert Deschamps and Jacques Tati attended the Ecole nationale supérieure des arts et techniques du théâtre and the Conservatoire supérieur d'art dramatique. He then worked for three years at the Comédie- Française with Antoine Vitez together. He is best known as the director of the TV series Les Deschiens with François Morel.

In 1978 he founded with Macha Makeïeff drama group Famille Deschamps, with which he has since numerous plays, realized partly on his own texts. Since 2007 he is Director of the Opéra Comique.
