Jerred Smithson

Jerred Smithson ( born February 4, 1979 in Vernon, British Columbia) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. Since November 2013, he plays for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League.

Career

After five seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Calgary Hitmen, he signed with the Los Angeles Kings. From 2000 to 2005, he played most of the time in the American Hockey League. In the season 2002/ 03 he played for the first time for the Los Angeles Kings in the National Hockey League. At the end he came up two points in 22 games. In the 2003 /04 season he played in eight games for the Kings. On July 22, 2004 he moved to the Nashville Predators. During the lockout he played for the Milwaukee Admirals in the AHL. In the 2005/06 season he played for the first time only exclusively in the NHL for the Predators. In the end, he came on five goals and 14 points in 66 games.

On 24 February 2012 it transferred the Nashville Predators in exchange for a sixth- round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2012 to the Florida Panthers. For the Trade Deadline on April 3, 2013, was delivered to the Edmonton Oilers.

As a free agent, he began the 2013/14 season, before he committed the Toronto Marlies of the AHL. After only seven AHL games, the Toronto Maple Leafs picked him as a cooperation team of Marlies in their NHL squad.
