Jerry Cronin

Jeremiah "Jerry" Cronin (Irish Diarmaid Ó Cróinín, born September 15, 1925 in Currabeha, Fermoy, County Cork, † 19 October 1990) was an Irish politician and sat from 1965 to 1981 in Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Irish Parliament.

Cronin was elected in the elections in 1965 in the constituency of Cork North - East for Fianna Fáil in the 18th Dáil Éireann. In the years 1969, 1973 and 1977, he was re-elected each. During the 19th Dáil he was from 1969 to May 9, 1970 parliamentary secretary to the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, and had finally held himself on May 9, 1970 to March 14, 1973 as a Minister of Defense. In the elections to the 22 Dáil in 1981, Cronin did not occur to. From 1979 to 1984 he was a member of the European Parliament.
