Jerusalem Bible

As the Jerusalem Bible, the 1968 German published edition of the Bible is called in theological language, in addition to the translation of the biblical text after the Herder- Bible also comments from the French Bible de Jérusalem 1955 - approved by the Vatican in October 1955 - contained. Those French translation of the Bible, supervised by the Dominicans of the Ecole Biblique in Jerusalem, attracted attention due to their special literary quality and their text-critical rigor, and is to this day international attention.

Since 1985, the Jerusalem Bible appears only with the text of the NRSV as New Jerusalem Bible. The French translation is published in 1998 with a revised text.
