Jerzy Konikowski

Jerzy Konikowski ( born January 24, 1947 in Bytom ) is a German chess player of Polish descent.

Chess career

He learned chess at the age of 14 years. In 1981, he moved about in the context of family reunification with his wife and daughter to Germany and got the German citizenship. Since 1982 he works at the University of Dortmund as a chemical engineer.

In OTB chess he counted many years to the Polish top. He won several international tournaments, and reached 1981 Elo rating of 2400. He bears the title of FIDE Master.
