Jerzy Lefeld

Jerzy Lefeld ( born January 17, 1898 in Warsaw, † 22 February 1980) was a Polish composer, pianist and music teacher.

Lefeld was from the age of eight piano lessons with Laura Sawicka, since 1908, he attended the Warsaw Academy of Music. Here he studied piano with Alexander Michałowski and composition with Roman Statkowski. From 1917 to 1939 he taught at the Warsaw Conservatory, first piano in the lower and middle classes, from 1926 score reading. In 1933 he received the title of professor. He also worked from 1924 to 1926 in the experimental broadcasting studio in Warsaw, after the Polish Rundfunk and Others as a member of the Radio Orchestra.

During the Second World War Lefeld worked as a music teacher and performed as a pianist in the salon Sztuki Bolesław Woytowicz. From 1945 to 1971 he headed the piano at the State Music Academy in Warsaw. He made in time from more than 40 concert pianist. Among his pupils were, inter alia, Witold Lutoslawski, Witold Stefan Kisielewski and Malcuzynski.

In addition Lefeld was a sought accompanist. Between 1917 and 1926, he gave more than 100 concerts with the violinist Stanislaw Barcewicz. Furthermore, he entered among others with the singers Stanislaw Korwin- Szymanowski, Ada Sari, Ewa Bandrowska - Turska, Wanda Wermińska, Viktor Brégy, Wiktoria Kotulak, Alfred Wdowczak, Bogdan Paprocki, Andrzej Hiolski, Stefan Woytowicz and Jerzy Artyszow, the violinist Karl Flesch, Ida Haendel, Zino Francescatti, Ruggiero Ricci, Irena Dubiska, Eugenia Uminska, Wenzel Kochański, Wanda Wiłkomirska and Konstanty Andrzej Kulka, Paul Hindemith ( viola ) and cellist Eli Kochański and in piano duo with Roman Maciejewski, Maria Wiłkomirska, Władysław Szpilman, Paul Lewiecki and Margarita Trombini Kazuro - on.
