Jerzy Pietrzyk

Jerzy Pietrzyk ( born April 17, 1955 in Warsaw ) is a retired Polish sprinter who specialized in the 400 -meter run.

He began his career as a hurdler and was established in 1973 European Junior Champion in the 400 - meter hurdles before he concentrated on the flat sprint. 1975 won at the Universiade in Rome in the 400 - meter dash and the 4 x 400 - meter relay.

He celebrated his biggest success at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal. The Polish squadron got in the lineup Ryszard Podlas Jan Werner, Zbigniew Jaremski and Jerzy Pietrzyk the silver medal behind the team of the United States. Pietrzyk launched in Montreal in the 400 -meter run and reached the semi-finals here.
