Jerzy Wostal

Jerzy Adolf Wostal (December 6, 1914 in Chorzów, † 1991 in Passau, German Georg Adolf Wostal ) was a Polish football player.

Career

While almost his entire career as a center forward, he remained faithful to a single association, the AKS Królewska Huta / Königshütte or FV Germania Chorzów, as the club during the Second World War was called. In 1937 he was second with his club the Polish Championship and finished second in the scoring charts. During the Second World War he worked in the editorial department of the Upper Silesian Wanderers, so he switched to forward - turf sports Gliwice, with whom he twice (1940 and 1941 ) reached the final of the German Championship.

In the National Team of Poland in the years 1936-1939, he played eleven matches, including a B- International Match, in which he scored four goals. His debut in the B selection was on September 6, 1936 in Riga against Latvia ( 3-3 ), where he also scored his first goal. His first senior international, he graduated in qualifying for the World Cup in France (1938 ) on 10 October 1937 in Warsaw against Yugoslavia (4-0 ), in which he scored a goal.
