Jesendorf

Jesendorf is a municipality in the eastern part of the district of North West in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern. The community is managed by the Office Neukloster - Warin based in the city of New Monastery.

Geography

The municipality Jesendorfs part of the extreme northwest of the Mecklenburg Lake District. Surrounded by numerous small lakes community is located about 13 km from the city of Wismar.

To Jesendorf include the districts Büschow, Neperstorf and trams.

History

The prehistoric hearths place of Jesendorf is the largest in Germany. It was east of the lake Tarzower discovered in 2008 during a rescue excavation. For the first time Jesendorf was first mentioned in 1235. The Church in Jesendorf dates back to 1338th The Jesendorfer settler houses have existed since the 1930s, they emerged in the course of Aufsiedlung after the dissolution of the goods Jesendorf. The present districts trams, Neperstorf and Büschow were originally Gutsdörfer (until 1945).

Main occupation of the inhabitants was agriculture. By A 14, formerly A 241, which connects the A20 with the A24 (Berlin- Hamburg), the municipality has a good perspective. Excavations on the route many prehistoric hearths places have been uncovered among others. It follows that the area has been inhabited since 2000 years ago. The four-flame fire points to the four districts and the largest currently known find spot of this kind in Mecklenburg. The wheel represents agriculture, highway and gravel mining. The colors in the emblem emphasize the affiliation to the part of the country Mecklenburg. With the tincture the main colors of the emblem are also shown in the flag.

The coat of arms was designed by Heinz Herald Kippnick.

Flag

The flag of the municipality Jesendorf is uniform vertical stripes of blue and yellow. In the middle of the flag cloth, is on two thirds of the height of the blue and yellow stripe across, the municipal coat of arms. The height of the flag cloth is related to the length as 3 to 5

Economy and infrastructure

A portion of the inhabitants are commuters, some jobs offer the local farms. Nearby gravel mining is operated.

Jesendorf has a junction on the motorway A14, the A20 with the A24 (Berlin - Hamburg) connects. The nearest railway station is located in the neighboring municipality Ventschow ( line Schwerin - Rostock).
