Jesse Price

Jesse Dashiel Price ( born August 15, 1863 in Whitehaven, Wicomico County, Maryland, † May 14, 1939 in Ocean City, Maryland ) was an American politician. Between 1914 and 1919 he represented the state of Maryland in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Jesse Price attended the common schools and worked in trade and crafts as well as in the banking industry. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Democratic Party launched a political career. In 1903 he was a member of the City Council of Salisbury; 1903 to 1907, he served as treasurer in Wicomico County. After that, he was 1908-1914 Member and since 1912 President of the Senate of Maryland. He was after the then constitution ex officio vice-governor of his state.

Following the resignation of Mr James Harry Covington Price was at the due election for the first seat of Maryland as his successor in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he took up his new mandate on 14 November 1914.
