Jessica Durlacher
Jessica Durlacher ( born September 6, 1961 in Amsterdam, Netherlands ) is a Dutch writer, literary critic and translator.
Life
Jessica Durlacher is the daughter of the sociologist and writer Gerhard Durlacher, who has the only survivor from his family Auschwitz. His reports and stories about the Nazi era made him an important witness in the Netherlands. Jessica Durlacher sets this theme continues and writes her novels, among other things, about the lives of families in which the parents survived the Holocaust, and how this experience traumatized her and her children and shapes.
Durlacher now lives and works in the vicinity of Amsterdam and is married to the Dutch writer Leon de Winter. The two have two children together.
