Jessica Ennis (CBE, born January 28, 1986 in Sheffield ) is a British multi- fighter. Your greatest successes are the victory at the Olympic Games in London in 2012, the 2009 World Championships in Berlin and the victory at the 2010 European Championships in Barcelona.

Career

Ennis is the daughter of a Jamaican and an Englishwoman. After fifth place at the World Youth Championships 2003 ( U18) and eighth place at the Junior World Championships 2004 ( U20) they won the 2005 title as Junior European Champion. In the 2005 Universiade in Izmir she finished in third place with 5910 points.

At the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in March 2006, she improved her best performance by 359 points to 6269 points. Thus they finished in third place behind their English team-mate Kelly Sotherton and the Australian Kylie Wheeler. When the European Cup more fighters in Arles in July 2006 she reached fourth place with 6170 points. In Gothenburg at the European Championships 2006, she improved her personal best to 6287 points, finishing in eighth place.

In March 2007, she participated in the pentathlon at the European Indoor Championships in Birmingham, with 4716 points she reached the sixth place. At the British Championships in 2007 Ennis won the 100 - meter hurdles and the high jump. In Stettin she improved her personal best of 2007 6399 points. A further increase their managed at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka, where she finished fourth with 6469 points. On 16 August 2009 she was Heptathlon World Champion with the Weltjahresbestleistung of 6731 points in Berlin. The following year she also won the European title in Barcelona and thereby improved their personal best to 6823 points. At the 2011 World Championships in Daegu she could not defend her title in Berlin, although they led the table until the javelin with over 100 points ahead. 4 August 2012 Ennis won in London at the 30th Olympic Games with a personal record of 6955 points, the gold medal in the heptathlon. In the 100 -meter hurdles they even put on a world record in the seven combat. Then Ennis were given several awards including 2013 Laureus World Sports Award for " World Sportswoman of the Year ".

Ennis studied psychology at the University of Sheffield and graduated in the summer of 2007. Has at a height of 1.65 m, a competition weight of 57 kg.
