Jessica Jerome

Jessica Jerome ( born February 8, 1987 in Jacksonville, Florida) is an American ski jumper.

Career

Ski jumping attempted Jessica Jermone at the age of seven years ago, shortly after her family had moved to Park City, Utah, for the first time. 2001 and 2002 it became a junior Olympic champion. They also took four gold medals at the National Championships and competed at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City as Vorspringerin at the competitions.

Her first big international success, was the victory of the FIS Ladies Grand Prix in February 2004 in Schonwald im Schwarzwald. The 2006 season, she finished with seven podium finishes from the Continental Cup series as third, behind Anette Sagen and Lindsey Van. After a training accident in December 2006, she had to quit because of torn ligaments in his right knee the following season early. A year later she was with a third place and eight other places in the top ten seventh in the COC overall ranking. In December 2010, she celebrated her first victory in a Continental Cup competitions.

At the U.S. Championships in Ski Jumping 2009 at Lake Placid, she won in the individual before Sarah Hendrickson and Abby Hughes the gold medal.

In December 2010, she celebrated her first victory in a Continental Cup competitions. From December 2011, Jerome started in the newly created World Cup. On January 8, 2012, she reached in Hinterzarten with third place their first podium and thus its hitherto best individual placing.

End of December 2013 Jerome won the U.S. Trials, thus securing her nomination for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. With the Olympic debut of women's ski jumping Jerome ranked as the best US-American ranked 10th. On 2 March 2014, it reached the second place in the competition in Rasnov their best World Cup placing.
