Jesus cleansing a leper

The biblical story of the healing of a leper reports of Jesus' miracle cure (actually cleaning) of a leper by his laying on of hands. The story is found in the Gospel of Mark ( Mk 1:40-45 EU ), from which, according to the two- source theory, the versions in Matthew ( Mt 8:1-4 EU) and Luke ( Lk 5:12-16 EU) have emerged.

Arrangements of Luke and Matthew

In Luke and Matthew, the following edits in contrast to the original version of Mark can be identified:

Comments

According to the former laws situation leper must live apart from the people, as it says in the third book of Moses ( Lev 13,14 EU):

"As long as evil exists, he remains unclean; he is unclean. He shall dwell apart, outside the camp, he should be stopped. "

The Greek λεπρός ( lepros ) and the corresponding Hebrew term does not mean that the patient is afflicted with leprosy, but refers to a whole group of skin abnormalities, including vitiligo.

The miracle story is framed in the Matthean version of Jesus' descent from the mountain after the Sermon on the Mount and of the mission of the priest healed. This descent from the mountain corresponds by its relation to ex 34.29 EU Moses -Sinai typology.
