Jet (brand)

Jet is the brand name for the network of petrol stations and petroleum products by the U.S. oil giant ConocoPhillips in Europe.

History

The Briton Bill Roberts used in 1953 in Rotherham in the English county of Yorkshire for the first time the brand names Jet for his future service station operators. The name was made up of the combination of letters of the number plate of his first tanker, JET 855, together. Robert's first gas station was a small station on a plot with only small size and could be operated conveniently because except refueling was offered no further service.

377 petrol stations in several European countries were taken over by the Russian oil company Lukoil in December 2006. ConocoPhillips holds a 20% stake in Lukoil. First, they operate still under the Jet brand, a reflagging in the name Lukoil to be completed by 2009 at the latest.
