The Jet Republic was a business aviation company based in Lisbon, Portugal.

Foundation

Jet Republic was founded in 2008 by British entrepreneur and former Royal Air Force pilot Jonathan Breeze. As -financing bank joined the Austrian EuRam bank ( European American Investment Bank Aktiengesellschaft), the Palais Esterházy ( Wallnerstraße ) in the first district of Vienna, under the direction of Viktor Popovic on.

Products

Was offered two products:

  • The purchase of fractional aircraft ownership ( Fractional Ownership)
  • The purchase of flight hours by a customer card

These 25 firm orders and 85 options for the Learjet 60XR worth 1.5 billion U.S. dollars were abandoned at the Canadian manufacturer Bombardier Aerospace. Delivery of the aircraft should start from October 2009. For flight hours should be paid by the customer including catering 5000-7000 Euro.

Liquidation

The company came with the financial crisis from 2007 into financial difficulties, resulting in the start of operations delayed. The Irish bookmaker Paddy Power hosted a bet, was in the bet whether the company would ever operate aircraft.
